A few words from the Authors
My name is Dr Andrew Bridgeforth dc. Welcome to the fourth Body by Laser™ clinic in Colorado with others located (in Garberville, Eureka, Walnut Creek - a suburb of San Francisco) Welcome
Laser therapy may be a concept that is new to you, but we have used lasers in our practice for years, treating everything from pain management, to neurological problems, to scar tissue treatment and even parasites.
Our practice is a chain of clinics that offer chiropractic care, nutritional support and, for the past seven years, laser therapy. Christine and I are portal of entry physicians. Besides moving bones, educating our patients in nutrition and health and giving laser treatments, we are continuously increasing our understanding of the body's physiology through research and clinical trials.
This dual role - managing our clinics and researching new treatment avenues - is nothing new for us. Back when we met as students, Christine and I quickly realized that we shared a commitment to explore new breakthroughs in medical techniques, technologies and tools - without compromising quality, personal care to our patients.
As one example of the work we're doing in research, we're launching a clinical trial in partnership with the manufacturers of the Zerona Laser at our Eureka office to test the effects of cold laser therapy on Leptin - a protein hormone that plays a key role in regulating energy intake and energy expenditure, including appetite and metabolism.
In addition to this busy professional life, we have two great kids and we're actively committed to our community. We've written and published 100's of newspaper articles on health and health care to educate, entertain and inform our neighbors and friends. We're co-authors of a book we created to familiarize people with their health options and opportunities. Written in an easy-to-read, engaging style, the book is called My Doctor Never Told Me That. You can find it by visiting: www.bodybylaser.com
One of the reasons we've developed such an enthusiastic following is the personal connection we create and nurture with our patients. Christine and I feel very strongly that spending quality time with clients - in the old fashioned, 'good to see you, neighbor' small town way - is time well spent. Just as our career mentor proved by the example he set for us, we get to know patients on a personal level - we get to understand their needs - and we get to build lasting relationships that enhance their long term health.
As we work with our patients we come to recognize and respect their concerns. One of these - an increasing pre-occupation with fitness and body image - encouraged us to investigate the emerging cold laser, body sculpting technology and take a pro-active step to incorporate its use in our practice.
We were one of the first to use the technology and we have remained at the forefront of this growing trend ever since. We started developing our own protocols and programs in our home office, completing over 100 successful treatments in less than 6 months. The Body by Laser™ clinic in Santa Monica, CA is our flagship location with programs and protocols that support our Body By Laser™ brand.
The reason body sculpting is so popular is that cold laser therapy specifically targets areas where people have difficulty losing fat - without resorting to invasive surgical techniques. While the success of the Body By Laser™ therapy is due in part to the effectiveness of the cold laser process itself, the outcome is a result of much more than a few sessions under the laser lamp. Our clients are carefully pre-screened, diagnosed, treated and provided with nutrition therapies, detox procedures and goal counseling. In other words, they are guided and served every step of the way by Body By Laser™ professionals who are invested in their long-term health and happiness.
Christine and I have created standardized training systems for other physicians as well, educating them in process and offering helpful tips to incorporate these treatments into their professional clinics and practices.
